Endorsements from Barbados

Barbados Maritime Administration issues endorsements to Officers only. Endorsed are diplomas issued under the provisions of the 1978 STCW Convention. To obtain an endorsement / seaman's passport, applicants must submit copies of the following documents:

• Completed application form
• Proof of seagoing experience (for 1 year total) within the last 5 years
• Coloured photo (passport sample)
• Certificate of Competency issued by the “White List” administration and endorsement
• GMDSS issued by the “White List” administration and endorsement
• SSO Certificate (VI / 5)
• Travel Passport
• Seaman’s book
• Medical Certificate (issued in accordance with STCW Regulation I / 9 and valid for at least 3 months)
• Endorsement issued before

Upon receipt of readable document copies and payment, provisional certificate valid for 3 months is issued. Permanent endorsement will be issued within period of 3 months depending on verification of certificate.
