The Transitory Certificate, Processing Certificate of Endorsement, Course Endorsement, Endorsement of a Certificate of Proficiency, Certificate of Proficiency will be issued in electronic format as of the date of implementation.

      The certificates and seafarers’ documentation will remain valid until their expiry date, regardless of the format used by the Panama Maritime Authority for its issuance.

        The documents already issued in security paper will remain valid until their expiry date.

        The shipowners, operators and crew of the Panama flagged-vessels, who hold and use electronic certificates, should ensure that the certificates are managed through the Security Management System, in accordance with section 11 of the International Safety Management Code (ISM Code).

       For verification of the authenticity and validity of the certificates and seafarers’ documents issued by the Panama Maritime Authority, it will be through the following methods:

•     Quick Response Code (QR Code);
•     Online Consultation on the Panama Maritime Authority website
•     Sending an email to the following email addresses: verification@amp.gob.pa  /  certification@amp.gob.pa
