PLEASURE YACHT REGISTRATION UNDER THE FLAG OF DOMINICA

The procedure for registration of a pleasure yacht under the flag of Dominica consists of two stages:

• Provisional
• Permanent

PROVISIONAL REGISTRATION  OF PLEASURE YACHT IN DOMINICA

According to the Merchant Shipping Code, 1989, the provisional registration of pleasure yachts is valid for 6 months. During this term, the owner or his representative provides all the documents necessary for the permanent registration of the yacht.

The following documents required for provisional pleasure yacht registration:

• Application form for obtaining the Official yacht number and call sign
• Application form for radio license
• Declaration of private use
• Proof of Ownership
• Application form “Dominica IBC” or application form of the Foreign Maritime Enterprise (FME)
• Power of Attorney for the person signing the registration application forms
• Measurement certificate
• Copies of class and / or statutory certificates (if applicable)

PERMANENT REGISTRATION OF PLEASURE YACHT IN DOMINICA

The following documents required for permanent pleasure yacht registration:

• Certificate of Deletion from the previous flag
• Completed Carving and Marking Note
• Contact list of vessel and owner
• Liability insurance policy (P&I Cover note)
